The North Hempstead town board is to vote on its five-year borrowing plan, mostly for long-term infrastructure projects.

The town’s capital plan, to be voted on at the Feb. 23 town board meeting, will require $30.1 million in new borrowing. Officials expect to spend $81.14 million over five years on the projects.

Officials expect to use nearly $50 million in federal and state grants to fund the projects and say they will apply for additional grants to cover the spending.

Projects include a new greenhouse at Clark Botanical Garden in Albertson; upgrades to Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park; and reconfiguring the sanitary system at North Hempstead Beach Park.
