A 58-year-old woman riding on the back of a motorcycle was fatally injured after a collision with an SUV on the south service road of the Long Island Expressway Saturday in North Hills, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

The woman, who was not identified by police, suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, a police news release said.

Detectives said a 51-year-old man was driving a 2025 Kia Sportage, a type of SUV, when his car collided with the 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle being driven by a 63-year-old man, the release said. They both suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
