North Lawrence Laundromat robbed, police seek thief
A North Lawrence Laundromat was robbed by a knife-wielding man Wednesday, Nassau County police said.
According to Fourth Squad detectives, an unidentified 47-year-old woman had just opened up DGB Laundromat at 232 Lawrence Ave. around 7:30 a.m. when a man displaying a knife pushed past the woman. The man then walked into the Laundromat's office and removed an undetermined amount of cash from a lock box and fled on foot. Two employees and one customer were in the store at the time, police said. No injuries were reported.
Police described the suspect as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, between 25 to 30 years old with a shaven head and facial hair. He was wearing dark boots, blue jeans and a white sleeveless T-shirt.
