A North Massapequa man has been charged in attempts to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax at two pharmacies with prescription slips stolen from his doctor, Nassau County police said.
Police charged Christopher Chiofolo, 26, with possession of a forged instrument, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property this past Thursday after the pharmacists became suspicious and called the doctor's office.
He was arrested at his home and scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court, Hempstead.
