Northern State reopens after tree closes westbound lanes
All westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway in the Town of North Hempstead were reopened Monday following a 37-minute closure after a tree fell onto the parkway, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The westbound road was closed between exits 26 and 29 at 1:45 p.m. and reopened at 2:22 p.m., the DOT said.
It was not clear if there were injuries.
