A late-night accident on the eastbound Ocean Parkway east of the Jones Beach Tower in Wantagh left two motorcyclists hospitalized Tuesday, State Police said.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said the two motorcyclists were traveling at an unsafe speed when they collided, causing both to be ejected from their motorcycles. One was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, by Wantagh Fire Department ambulance, with neck and back pain, police said. Police said the other motorcyclist was airlifted to NUMC with a right leg contusion. The conditions of both men were unknown.

The investigation is continuing.
