Nassau County police arrested a Bellmore man on charges of burglarizing a Wantagh restaurant on Thanksgiving morning, police said.

According to detectives from the Seventh Precinct, an officer responded to The Nook Restaurant, at 3195 Sunrise Hwy., for an alarm. When the officer arrived, he discovered a broken window in the front of the restaurant. He went to the side of the restaurant, where police said he saw Miguel Alfaro, 20, exiting the building with a bottle of liquor.

Alfaro, of 2320 Newbridge Rd., attempted to flee, but was tackled by the officer and arrested at 5:04 a.m. The officer's right knee was injured. He was treated at a hospital and released.

Alfaro is charged with second-degree burglary and resisting arrest. He was to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
