Three people have been arrested, accused of being part of a ring that brought in large quantities of heroin into Long Island concealed in shoes and luggage, according to officials.

Joham Doque, of Sunnyside, was arrested Tuesday night at the Marriott Hotel in Uniondale, when he went there to pick up 10 to 15 kilos of heroin from Hannelore Dieseldorff and Ervin Batres, according to a complaint filed in the federal district court in Central Islip.

Dieseldorff and Batres, natives of Guatemala, had been arrested the day before by Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents when they entered the United States by bus at the Texas border, the complaint said. Agents found the heroin hidden in their luggage and shoes.

They agreed to make a controlled delivery to a person, who turned out to be Dogue at the Marriott, the papers said. Dieseldorff and Batres said they were supposed to get $50,000 from the person who picked up the heroin.

They also said they had made several previous deliveries to the New York-Long Island area using the same technique, according to the papers.

Dieseldorff, Batres and Doque pleaded not guilty at arraignment in federal district court in Central Islip.

Magistrate Arlene Lindsay held them without bail, pending future hearings.

Their attorneys declined to comment as did Assistant United States Attorney Richard Lunger.
