Officials announce town, village closings

How Long Island towns and villages are responding to the blizzard warning:
Brookhaven offices are open, but the town has closed recreation facilities and canceled all recreation programs for Wednesday. The town also has issued a snow alert. All parked vehicles should be removed from roadways for more effective plowing.
Huntington offices and buildings are open.
Islip offices and buildings are open. However, senior centers are closed. A snow advisory alert has been issued, calling for the removal of parked vehicles from roadways.
Oyster Bay town offices are open, but several recreation programs, including skating and hockey at the Bethpage facility, have been canceled. All activities and meetings at town community centers also have been canceled.
A winter storm warning has been announced, calling for the removal of parked cars from roadways.
Riverhead town hall and justice court will close early, at 11:30 a.m. Court cases will be adjourned and public meetings Wednesday have been postponed.
Smithtown offices and buildings are open.
