An electrical short sparked a late-night fire at the National Grid and Long Island Power Authority headquarters in Hicksville, Nassau County police Arson / Bomb Squad detectives said Wednesday.

One firefighter was treated at a hospital for heat exhaustion and released after the Tuesday blaze, police said. There were no other injuries, according to police.

The fire broke out in a second-floor office at the utility's headquarters on Old Country Road at 10:55 p.m., police said.

Investigators determined the fire was "accidental in nature," according to a news release.

More than 100 firefighters from Hicksville, Bethpage, Plainview and Jericho battled the blaze. Police said the building was "partially occupied."
