A morning rush-hour vehicle fire briefly closed the eastbound Northern State Parkway on Thursday near Exit 38, Sunnyside Boulevard, in Plainview, officials said.

State Police said the incident was reported at about 7 a.m. It was not clear if anyone had been injured.

The New York State Department of Transportation website informny.com showed traffic halted in the area, but said that all lanes had been reopened as of 9 a.m.
