Nassau County police investigate the scene where a pedestrian was fatally struck on Glen Cove Road in Old Brookville on Saturday night. Credit: Neil Miller

A Glen Cove man was killed Saturday after he was struck by a vehicle in Old Brookville, Nassau police said.

The victim was hit around 6:54 p.m. by a 2014 Jeep traveling southbound on Glen Cove Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified Tuesday as Todd Tischler, 58. Police have not identified the driver, 36, who remained at the scene.

Police said the homicide squad is investigating the fatal crash.

A vehicle brake and safety check were conducted, police said.
