Four people were injured in a late-morning two-car crash that closed Route 106 in Old Brookville for about two hours Monday, police said.

Old Brookville police said one person was airlifted by Nassau County police helicopter to Nassau University Medical Center but the injuries were "nonlife-threatening" and the measure was precautionary. It was not immediately clear where the other three victims were taken.

Police said the crash occurred at about 11 a.m.

It forced the closure of southbound Route 106 at Brookville Road, police said. The road was reopened after 1 p.m.

Police initially said the accident had occurred in Muttontown. Old Brookville police did not release any other information on the victims and said the crash was under investigation.
