One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the eastbound Southern State Parkway late Sunday night on the border of North Wantagh and North Massapequa, New York State Police said.

The crash occurred near the exit for Hicksville Road and police said initial indications are speed and wet road surfaces were contributing factors.

Additional details were not immediately released, though police said they expect an update sometime Monday.
