One person was hospitalized with smoke inhalation following an early-morning fire Monday in Glen Cove, local fire officials said.

The identity of the person was not released.

Fire officials said investigators from the Nassau County Fire Marshal's office have been asked to investigate the cause of the 1:22 a.m. fire on Rooney Court.

The injured person, believed to be the homeowner, was taken to Glen Cove Hospital.

Firefighters from Glen Cove, Sea Cliff and Glenwood responded to the scene and knocked down the fire within a half-hour, officials said.
