One person was hospitalized as Nassau County police responded to a report of a possible gas leak at a Valley Stream home Wednesday morning, a department spokeswoman said.

Police went a home on Rockaway Avenue on a report of a carbon monoxide leak. However, when they arrived, they found the problem was more likely because of Freon gas leaking from a residential air conditioner.

One person was taken to the hospital, the spokeswoman said, but she had no further details.
