One hurt in five crashes on Meadowbrook

Five accidents, each involving two cars, closed two lanes of the southbound Meadowbrook Parkway Monday morning near Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale, state police said.

The incidents all occurred near Exit M5, the exit for Hempstead Turnpike. The first two occurred at 5:51 a.m. and 5:56 a.m., the second two occurred at 6:42 a.m. and 6:43 a.m. and the fifth crash occurred at 7:38 a.m., police said. All of the accidents were considered minor, police said. Police said there was one minor injury -- that in the crash at 5:56 a.m.

Police could not immediately say if inclement weather played a role in the accidents.
