Cops: 1 dead in Bethpage Parkway three-car collision

A three-car collision on Bethpage Parkway claimed the life of one of the drivers Wednesday afternoon, State Police said.
Both directions of the parkway were closed about 2 p.m. between the Southern State Parkway and Hempstead Turnpike. The road was reopened shortly after 7 p.m.
State Police said the investigation was continuing and notification of the victim's family was pending. No further details were immediately available.
