One person died in a Freeport house fire Friday night, officials said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the fire at 164 Jay St., said a Freeport Fire Department dispatcher.

Officials did not release the name of the dead person. Firefighters responded to the call at 7:29 p.m.
