Republicans who control Nassau's Off-Track Betting agency are continuing at least one contract from the former Democratic administration - with Zimmerman/Edelson Inc., the public relations/marketing firm run by National Democratic Committeeman Robert Zimmerman of Great Neck. "We believe the firm's experience and proven track record will play a critical role in our efforts to restore Nassau regional OTB to profitability," said new VP Doug Diana (also the Baldwin GOP leader) in a statement from the company, retained for $6,000 a month. Zimmerman has long been tight with Nassau Republican chairman Joseph Mondello and praised Mondello's acumen after Republican victories last year. - Celeste Hadrick
