Two men posing as utility company employees forced their way into a house in Lakeview at gunpoint Monday night, robbing the residents, Nassau County police said.

The incident occurred at 9:55 p.m. on Ontario Road.

Police said the two men told a woman, 20, who answered the front door that they were utility workers. Police said they were wearing blue collared shirts, tan work boots and black gloves. One of the men also wore a dust mask, police said.

The men forced their way into the home at gunpoint. They said that a man, 23, hearing the commotion, rushed into the room and was forced to the ground at gunpoint, police said.

Then, the landlord and a friend arrived at the home. The friend was dragged inside, but the landlord managed to flee and called 911, police said.

Police said the robbers stole cellphones, wallets and "a large bag of unknown proceeds." No one was injured. It was not immediately clear if the home was targeted.

Police said the investigation is continuing and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
