Pair take deliveryman's cash, car
Police are searching for two suspects they say robbed a Chinese food deliveryman Wednesday night in Elmont.
The robbers not only stole $300 in cash, but also the deliveryman's car, police said.
The victim, 48, suffered a lacerated nose when one of the robbers punched him in the face, Nassau County police said.
He refused medical attention for his injury, police said.
The incident occurred at 9:40 p.m. on Butler Boulevard.
Police said the victim parked his car across the street from the address given, walked to the front gate of the home -- and was approached from behind by one of the suspects, who put him in a choke hold.
The second robber then punched the victim in the face and stole $300 from his pocket.
The two then stole the victim's 2001 gray Nissan Sentra and fled south on Butler, then west onto Surprise Street. The car has New York plates DVP 3773.
Police said both suspects were about 5-foot-9 with thin builds. One wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, while the other also wore dark clothing.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
