Woman dies after being hit while crossing Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook, police say

A 46-year-old woman was killed Sunday evening in Lynbrook after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Sunrise Highway, Nassau County police confirmed.
The woman, whom police did not identify, had been crossing the intersection at Horton Avenue at 5:33 p.m. when she was struck by a 2012 Hyundai operated by an 18-year-old man, authorities said.
The driver remained at the scene, according to the police.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The investigation was ongoing, police said.
