A person backing out of a Farmingdale home's driveway struck a pedestrian Tuesday afternoon, Nassau police said.

The incident occurred on Melville Road, between Beechwood and Hawthorne streets, at about 5:24 p.m., police said. The pedestrian, whom police did not identify, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The driver, who was also not identified, has not been charged, police said.
