Pedestrian hit, killed by SUV in Hicksville

A man was struck by an SUV and killed Tuesday morning in Hicksville, police said.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
Nassau County police said the accident occurred on Old Country Road near Levittown Parkway just before 6 a.m.
The accident and investigation closed the westbound lanes until about 10 a.m.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle remained at the scene and was not charged.
Police said details are still emerging -- and said the investigation is continuing.
