Pedestrian, 70, critically injured in Baldwin crash

A 70-year-old man was critically injured after he was struck by a car while crossing Sunrise Highway in Baldwin on Thursday, police said.
The man was crossing south near Harrison Avenue at 8:55 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2013 Nissan.
He suffered trauma to his head and body and was taken to a hospital, where he is in critical condition, Nassau County police said.
The driver of the Nissan, a 33-year-old woman, was not injured and remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
