Pedestrian killed in Garden City Park accident

A pedestrian who was hit by a Jeep while crossing Jericho Turnpike Tuesday evening in Garden City Park has died of her injuries, Nassau police said.

Susan Katz, 68, of Roslyn was walking south across Jericho Turnpike west of Herricks Road when she was hit by a 2012 Jeep Liberty traveling west, police said. The accident occurred at 6:45 p.m.

Katz was taken to Winthrop University Hospital, where she died at 10:36 p.m., police said.

No criminality is suspected at this time, police said.
