Pedestrian killed in North Lindenhurst crash

A Lindenhurst woman died after being struck by a vehicle in North Lindenhurst at 6:18 p.m. Sunday, said Suffolk police.

Police said Evelina Kulikovsky, 34, was crossing the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway near Wellwood Avenue when she was hit by a 2002 Mazda Tribute. Kulikovsky was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.

The crash is being investigated, police said, but no charges have been filed against the Tribute's driver, who is from West Islip.
