An 86-year-man was fatally struck Friday after crossing a roadway in Mineola, Nassau County police said.

The name and hometown of the deceased man were not immediately available.

At 10:34 p.m. on Thursday, the victim was crossing Second Street at Roosevelt Place when he was struck by a 2012 white Toyota four-door sedan, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 1:40 a.m., police said.

The 60-year-old man who was driving the Toyota stayed at the scene, police said.
