A 61-year-old male pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV Saturday afternoon in Oceanside, Nassau police said.

At 1:41 p.m., a 2018 Ford Edge hit the victim before crashing into a building at 3618 Oceanside Road, according to police.

The injured man was transported to a hospital where medical staff pronounced him dead, police said.

The victim's name was not immediately available. Police said the driver of the Ford, a 67-year-old man, was not injured.
