Police: Hit-and-run in New Cassel leaves pedestrian in critical condition
A man who had fallen into a roadway Sunday night in New Cassel was struck by a vehicle that left the scene, Nassau County Police said.
The vehicle, traveling east on Broadway, struck the man, 61, with the driver fleeing south with no attempt to help or call 911, police said.
The man, found by a passerby who called police, was taken to a local hospital by a county ambulance and is in critical condition, police said.
