Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale was temporarily closed in both directions after a pedestrian was struck by a car at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, Nassau County police said.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital, said police, who could offer no further information at this time.

The road had been closed between Front and Fayette streets due to the police investigation.
