The person, believed to be a 22-year-old man, was hit by a westbound train shortly after 5:30 a.m. near the Plandome station, MTA officials said. The Nassau County Medical Examiner has been notified.

LIRR service was suspended, with shuttle service offered on the Port Washington line between the two stations. Service was restored at about 8:30 a.m., officials said.
