An East Meadow man was identified Monday as the victim of a homicide over the weekend at a Hicksville motel, police said.

Nassau County police said they are investigating the death of Erik O’Connell, 37, who was found Saturday at the Econo Lodge at 429 Duffy Ave.

Police would not provide details about the injuries O’Connell sustained and said the medical examiner’s office would determine his cause of death.

Police also declined to say whether they have any indication of a motive in the case, citing the ongoing investigation.

A person answering the phone at O’Connell’s home declined to comment, as did the hotel’s manager.

Police said they received a 911 call to the motel about 1:20 p.m. The motel’s staff discovered the dead man when they went to clean the room.

Police have not released a cause of death or any information about what they found at the motel. No arrests have been made.
