A pizza-delivery man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night by two men hiding in the bushes as he made a delivery in Uniondale, Nassau County police said.

Police said the victim, a 33-year-old delivery driver for Papa John's Pizza on Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale, was attempting to deliver a pizza to a Rhodes Avenue home shortly before 11 p.m. when two men approached him from some nearby bushes.

The men demanded money from the driver, and one of the men pointed a black handgun at him, police said.

The victim gave the men money, an iPhone and the food he was attempting to deliver, police said.

The men took the items and ran into the rear yard of the residence, according to police. The driver was not injured.

One of the men was described as between 5-feet, 4-inches and 5-feet, 6-inches tall, with a thin build and wearing a black mask, while the man with the gun was described as being about 6 feet tall with a medium build, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police ask anyone with information about this crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
