Pizza deliveryman robbed in Freeport

A 61-year-old pizza deliveryman was held up at gunpoint in Freeport Thursday night by a trio of robbers who hit him in the head, stole cash and a cellphone and fled, police said.

Nassau County police said the victim suffered a cut to his head and was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The incident occurred on Archer Street at about 11:30 p.m.

Police said the trio fled northbound on foot. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
