Two drivers were killed in a late-night car accident in Farmingdale, police said.
Nassau County police said Monday's fatal accident occurred near Nelson Street and Fulton Street, Route 109, at 11:23 p.m. The two victims were the lone occupants of their two vehicles.
Police identified the victims as Gregory Brandel, 35, of Farmingdale, and Patricia Fuzia, 58, of Islip Terrace.
Police said Fuzia was driving a 2007 Chrysler south on Nelson when her vehicle collided with the 1994 Mercury driven west on Fulton by Brandel.
The circumstances of the crash were not immediately clear, though it appeared the vehicle driven by Fuzia was merging onto the road, police said.
Fuzia died at the scene, police said. Brandel was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said there does not appear to be any criminality involved in the crash.
The investigation was continuing Tuesday, police said.
