The second of three teenagers police said were involved in an August street robbery in Roosevelt was arrested Tuesday night at his home.

Kaheem Carter, 17, of 137 E. Fulton Ave., Roosevelt, was arrested by detectives from the Nassau police Special Investigations Squad at his residence at 10:15 p.m. He was charged with second-degree robbery.

Nassau County District Court Judge Joy Watson set Carter's bail at $25,000 bond or cash, which he had not posted as of Wednesday afternoon. He is due back in court Friday.

Police said an accomplice, Dewayne Green, 17, of 81 Smith St., Roosevelt, had been arrested on Aug. 28 on charges of second-degree robbery. Court records show Green pleaded guilty to the charge on Oct. 10 and was ordered held on $50,000 bond or cash bail pending sentencing.

He is due back in court on Nov. 7, according to records.

A third suspect is still being sought, police said.

Police said that on Aug. 16 the three men -- Carter, Green and an unnamed suspect -- approached a 17-year-old male as he walked along Washington Avenue near Gusto Lane at about 1:10 a.m.

The trio then "began to punch and kick the victim multiple times in the head and face," police said, before ripping a gold chain from the victim's neck and fleeing on foot.

It was not immediately clear what led police to arrest Green in August or what evidence might have led them to Carter.
