Police activity in N. Wantagh neighborhood

A North Wantagh neighborhood was cordoned off on Sunday morning as Nassau police worked the scene of an active investigation.

Police would not release any details about the situation on Lawrence Drive, other than to say that the original call was for a burglary in progress.

Several neighbors stood outside police lines set up at Lawrence and Bruce drives, waiting to return to their homes.

Neighbors reported seeing police cars and ambulances at the scene.
