Armed with a pellet gun and riding a bike, Nassau County police said a Roosevelt man robbed three people within a 16-minute span - only to be arrested less than a half-hour after his spree began.

Police said the robberies Monday in Roosevelt started at 5:30 p.m. and ended 25 minutes later with the arrest of Terrell J. McCray, 21, of Decatur Street. Police said McCray was arrested as he attempted to elude officers, trespassing onto private property and damaging a vehicle parked there.

Police said McCray committed the first robbery on East Raymond Avenue in Roosevelt at about 5:30 p.m., then committed another on Lakewood Avenue at 5:41 p.m. and a third on Park Avenue at 5:46 p.m.

McCray stole cell phones and a woman's pocketbook, police said. All items were recovered.

McCray was charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass, police said. He was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
