Police arrest Island Park man in Jordan Lobster Farms burglary
An Island Park man was arrested and charged with burglary early Wednesday after police officers on patrol found him in a locked fenced-in area of Jordan Lobster Farms.
Alec R. Aitchison, 19, of 1 Baker Ct., charged with third-degree burglary after his arrest at 12:55 a.m., Nassau County police said. He faced arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said officers on patrol became suspicious when they spotted Aitchison inside the fenced-in area outside Jordan Lobster Farms on Pettit Place, which is just a few blocks from the suspect's home, and launched an investigation. The officers determined that Aitchison had broken into the building through a rear door and, once inside, stolen cash from a register.
It was not immediately clear how much was taken.
Police said the money was recovered.
