Police: Baldwin man stole from neighbor, pawned items
A residential burglary investigation led to the arrest of a Baldwin man Tuesday, after detectives discovered proceeds from the theft had been sold to two local pawnbrokers, police said.
David Aguiar, 25, of 2590 Central Ave., was arrested at his home at 5:40 p.m. and was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He faces arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Nassau County police said First Squad detectives, investigating a home burglary that occurred on Central Avenue on Nov. 3, discovered items taken from that burglary had been sold to the pawnshops -- and then tied those items to Aguiar.
