Police: Bay Shore man had 16 grams of crack
A Bay Shore man stopped Sunday on the Bethpage State Parkway in Plainedge because his car had illegally tinted windows faces felony drug charges for having more than 15 grams of cocaine, State Police said.
Troopers patrolling the parkway near Boundary Avenue at about 6:43 p.m. stopped a blue Honda, police said in a news release.
The driver, Michael Moore, 25, also had "illegally switched" license plates, police said.
As they impounded the car, troopers found 1.1 grams of crack inside the vehicle, police said. With the assistance of a canine unit, police said they then discovered 14.4 grams of additional crack in the car.
Moore is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and several traffic violations, police said.
His arraignment information at First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
