Police: Brooklyn man speeding, drunk on LIE
Police said a Brooklyn man was driving in excess of 90 mph, swerving in and out of traffic on the Long Island Expressway and, they said, was drunk -- and had a woman and her 7-month-old son in his car.
Courtney Lowery, 31, of 139th Street in Brooklyn, is under arrest after a traffic stop at 2 a.m. Friday on the westbound LIE in Westbury, police said.
He was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child, failure to stay in a single lane of traffic, driver operation without wearing a seat belt, and speeding.
He is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
The 28-year-old woman and her infant son were unharmed, police said, and were released at the scene of the arrest.
The car was impounded.
