A Uniondale man stopped Wednesday for erratic driving on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in East Garden City who had an open bottle of vodka in the front seat faces drunken-driving charges, State Police said.
Dennis Bouknight, 41, was driving a black Kia north on the parkway near Zeckendorf Boulevard at about 12:30 p.m. when he was pulled over, according to a news release.
Troopers noticed "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" and saw an open vodka bottle on the front passenger seat.
Bouknight failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said. He also provided a breath-analyzer reading of .24 percent, police said. The legal limit is .08 percent.
He is charged with DWI, drinking alcohol in a vehicle and traffic violations. He is scheduled to appear Dec. 16 in First District Court in Hempstead.
