An Islip Terrace woman was arrested Thursday after fleeing the scene of an accident in Franklin Square in which she was driving while intoxicated, New York State Police said.
At close to 6 a.m. Jennifer Dicola, 31, driving a white Nissan Altima, fled the scene after striking a black Ford near Exit 15, Corona Avenue, on the westbound Southern State Parkway, police said.
The Ford driver followed the Nissan — operating on a flat front tire because of the accident — which stopped near a shopping center near Exit 13, Central Avenue, Valley Stream, police said.
Troopers responded and arrested Dicola, whose breath sample had a blood-alcohol content of 0.10 percent, police said.
Charged with driving while intoxicated, fleeing the scene of a property-damage accident and other traffic violations, she was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in First District Court, Hempstead, at a later date.
