A fire Tuesday night that substantially damaged three commercial buildings in East Meadow was accidental, Nassau County police said.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire at 2238 Hempstead Tpke., police said in a news release.

The fire started at Spice & Curry at about 10:25 p.m., with First Precinct police and the East Meadow Fire Department responding. It spread to two adjoining buildings, a We Buy Gold store and a wine and spirits shop, police said.

"The buildings sustained substantial damage and the fire is being deemed accidental at this time," police said in the release.

Levittown, North Bellmore, Wantagh and North Merrick fire departments also responded with 75 firefighters at the scene.
