Police are searching for three men who robbed an Elmont deli at gunpoint Monday afternoon, stealing a DVR, several cartons of cigarettes, lottery tickets and cash.

The robbery occurred at the Elmont Grocery, at 782 Hempstead Tpke., at 3:55 p.m., Nassau County police said.

Police said the 23-year-old clerk was inside the store when the three suspects entered, displayed a black handgun and ordered him to the back of the store. One of the suspects then rolled down the metal security door and locked the interior glass door, police said.

With the victim in the storage area, the suspects then took the DVR, cartons of Newport cigarettes, lottery tickets and cash from the register.

One of the suspects wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a red scarf over his face, while another wore gray hooded sweatshirt, white and blue work gloves and red bandanna over his face. The third suspect was described as a male.

There were no injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
