Police: Far Rockaway man snatched iPhone

Nassau County police arrested an 18-year-old Far Rockaway man Saturday and charged him with stealing a 60-year-old woman's iPhone on Wednesday in Lawrence.

Kimani Jones, 18, was charged with third-degree robbery and was awaiting arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead.

On Wednesday, a woman was walking near 49 Lawrence Ave. about 9:10 a.m. when a male approached her from behind, twisted her arm and grabbed the iPhone she was carrying, police said. The male entered a tan Ford with a New Jersey registration that was provided to police.
