Police: Farmingdale High School briefly evacuated after gas leak

A gas leak briefly forced the evacuation of Farmingdale High School early Wednesday, Nassau County police said.
Police said the leak was later tied to an open valve in a science room -- and that once the valve was closed, the evacuated parties were allowed to return.
The leak was first reported in a 911 call at 7:19 a.m.
Calls to the district office were not immediately returned on Wednesday.
